3 die, 2 hurt as truck hits tractor in Buxar | Patna News – Times of India

Buxar: Three people died on the spot and two sustained critical injuries when a speeding truck rammed into a tractor trolley on Veer Kunwar Singh bridge in Buxar around 6pm on Sunday. Both vehicles were entering Bihar from Uttar Pradesh.
The injured were rushed to Buxar Sadar Hospital with the help of locals and police. “The truck driver and two workers on the tractor died on the spot,” Buxar Sadar SDPO Dheeraj Kumar said, adding that the deceased workers were from Dumraon while the truck driver’s identity is still being verified.
Sanjay Kumar Mishra, an eyewitness, said, “The tractor trolley was loaded with husk and had workers returning from Uttar Pradesh when the truck hit it from behind on the bridge.”
Locals demanded stricter speed control on the bridge. Police have seized the tractor driver’s broken cellphone and other evidence for investigation.
