3 bodies recovered after coal bunker collapse at Dalmia cement in Odisha's Sundargarh

ROURKELA: After about 40 hours of rescue operations following the collapse of the coal bunker at Dalmia cement (Bharat) Limited, Rajgangpur, two more bodies of missing workers were recovered from the coal and mangled structures on Saturday. Another body of a missing worker was recovered on Saturday morning. The three bodies have now been sent for post-mortem.
Dasarathi Saraboo, Sub Collector of Sundargarh, who is currently inside the factory, has confirmed the recovery of all three bodies.

“One body was recovered this morning, and the other two bodies have also been recovered. They have been identified as Dasarath Patra, Susanta Rout, and Ranjit Bhol. All three bodies have been sent for post-mortem,” said Dasarathi Saraboo, Sub Collector, Sundargarh.
“The family members of each deceased have lodged FIRs at Rajgangpur police station,” Saraboo added.
“Regarding the lapses at the factory that caused the loss of three lives, an FIR will also be lodged by the Tehsildar of Rajgangpur,” he said.
Saraboo further stated that the body of Dasarath Patra, which was recovered first today, has been declared by the company to receive a compensation of Rs. 25 lakh to his family, Rs. 10 lakh against insurance, a quarter, a job for the wife of the deceased Patra, and free education for his two children until class XII. Regarding the other two deceased, the company is yet to make an announcement.
According to sources, Dasarath Patra, a native of Gurandi village in Paralakhemundi, is survived by his wife and two sons aged 10 and 3.
The deceased Ranjit Bhol, who had married two years ago, is survived by his wife and an 18-month-old daughter. The deceased Susanta Rout is survived by his wife and two twin sons aged 20. Both sons of Rout are working at Dalmia Cement, Rajgangpur.
