Bhubaneswar: Sports minister Suryabanshi Suraj unveiled the logo, trophy, jersey and anthem of the CM Trophy (under-15) football championship at the Kalinga Stadium on Sunday.The minister said the CM Trophy will help nurture grassroots-level sporting talent in Odisha. Under the leadership of CM Mohan Charan Majhi, the state govt is committed to identifying and promoting young sporting talent, he added.The CM Trophy is being organised jointly by the sports and youth services department and the Football Association of Odisha. The first phase of the tournament, held from Jan 16 to April 19, witnessed the participation of 271 football clubs and over 5,000 players from across all districts.The zonal level (second phase) of the championship is scheduled to take place from May 28 to June 5. Teams selected from the districts will be grouped into four zones — Sambalpur, Bhubaneswar, Keonjhar and Berhampur — and they will compete for a place in the state-level final round. TNN
