26-year-old killed by retd army man

Patna: A 26-year-old man was shot dead allegedly by a retired army personnel in Parsauna village under Barabar Tourist police station in Jehanabad district on Saturday night, over a long-standing land dispute with his father. Accused Jitendra Sipahi fled his home after the firing, police said.
Barabar Tourist station house officer (SHO) Rajkumar Rai, who arrived at the scene with SDPO Rajeev Kumar Singh, said a villager, identified as Amarnath, told them that he and victim Loknath Yadav were having a conversation when Sipahi fired at them with his licensed rifle from the terrace of his house, hitting the latter. “Loknath was taken to Makhdumpur Referral Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. The body has been handed over to the family after postmortem examination at the sadar hospital.”
According to police, Sipahi had allegedly fired shots at the victim’s home earlier also.
An FIR against him and three others of his family was registered on the complaints of Loknath’s relatives.
“Raids are being carried out at suspected hideouts to nab him. Police are also initiating action to request the cancellation of his arms license,” said the SHO.
