Navi Mumbai: A 22-year-old youth was arrested by the Panvel city police for allegedly sexually assaulting a 16-year-old college girl residing in his locality in Pethgaon in Panvel taluka. Panvel city police informed that the arrested accused is identified as Kunal Pethkar, who works as a food app delivery boy. Some months ago, he befriended the victim. In Oct, under the pretext of introducing her to his female friend, the accused Pethkar took her to his other friend’s house in Panvel, where he allegedly sexually assaulted her. He threatened her that if she shouted for help or revealed the incident to anyone, he would harm her mother and brother. Hence, out of fear, she did not reveal her ordeal to anyone. George Mendonca
