20-Year-Old Shot in Patna During Robbery Attempt | Patna News – Times of India


Patna: A 20-year-old youth was shot and critically injured by unidentified assailants, while he tried to resist a robbery bid on National Highway-30 in Maner area of Patna district in the early hours of Monday, said police. After shooting him, the criminals fled with his bike, laptop bag and other belongings towards Bihta.
Injured Kundan Kumar, who worked as a graphic designer in Patna, was returning to his home at Mahinwa village in Maner for his cousin Vikas’s wedding on Tuesday, when the incident happened.
According to the victim’s brother-in-law, Arvind Kumar Gupta, Kundan’s colleague informed them about the incident over phone around midnight. They found him lying near Srinagar, not far away from his home, with bullet wounds to his back and knife injury marks on his stomach.
Upon receiving information, his family and police rushed to the spot and admitted him to Maner hospital, from where he was referred to PMCH. He was subsequently admitted to a private hospital in Raja Bazar, where his condition was said to be critical. According to police, the bullet struck his waist and is lodged in his chest.
Danapur-II deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Pankaj Kumar Mishra also arrived at the crime scene. Mishra said the forensic team and dog squad reached the spot and collected evidence. “The CCTV footage of nearby areas is being checked to identify the miscreants.”
