2 men run over by truck in Sundargarh | Bhubaneswar News

Rourkela: Two men on a bike were run over by a 10-wheeler truck near Chatabar petrol pump in Sundargarh district on Friday. The deceased were identified as Kedar Kalo (43) and Laknath Majhi (34) of Jhupurnga village under Hemgir police station.
Kalo and Majhi came to Bileimunda and were returning to their village when the truck coming from the coming from the opposite direction hit them around 11 am. Both fell off the bike and were run over by the truck. The truck driver managed to escape.
After the incident, locals staged a road blockade, alleging that a number of accidents occur on the road, but the district administration has not yet taken any preventive steps. Agitators demanded a coal corridor and adequate compensation for both the deceased’s families. Vehicular movement was affected due to the blockade. Hemgir police are trying to pacify the irate locals.TNN
