Patna: Around 2.08 lakh candidates will write the joint-entrance examination for admission to two-year Bachelor of Education (B Ed) course at 341 centres in 11 cities across the state on Tuesday.
Ashok Kumar Mehta of L N Mithila University, who is the chief nodal officer of the state-level entrance test, said that as many as 61, 580 candidates would take the test at 79 centres in Patna.“Of the total candidates, 28,986 will be female and 32,592 will be male, who will write the entrance test at 34 centres and 45 centres, respectively, in the city,” he said.

According to Mehta, candidates must bring two copies of their admit cards, each with a photograph attached, to the examination centre. Once the invigilator signs one of the admit cards, it will be returned to the examinee. Candidates are instructed to record their biometric attendance at the centre and remain in the examination hall until the test concludes. The entrance test is scheduled from 11am to 1pm, and candidates are advised to arrive at their examination centres at least half-an-hour prior to the start of the test, he said.
“The two-hour test will be held at Ara, Bhagalpur, Chhapra, Darbhanga, Gaya, Hajipur, Madhepura, Munger, Muzaffarpur, Patna and Purnia. The test centres have been selected mostly at the university headquarters and district headquarters with a view to ensuring smooth and fair conduct of the examination. Besides colleges, govt high schools have also been made centres,” he said.
There are total 37,500 seats in 343 govt and private training colleges functioning under 14 universities, including Patliputra University, Magadh University, B R A Bihar University, Maulana Mazharul Haque Arabic and Persian University, L N Mithila University, Aryabhatta Knowledge University, Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University, Purnia University, Veer Kunwar Singh University, J P University , Munger University , B N Mandal University, Patna University and K S D Sanskrit University.
