2 from Gujarat dead;2 injured on Mumbai Ahmedabad National Highway! | Mumbai News – Times of India
Vasai: Two senior citizens died while two others were injured in a crash that took place on Mumbai-Ahmedabad national highway (NH), at Dahanu, located more than 100 km from Mumbai, around 1 pm on Sunday. The driver lost control of the car, causing it to swerve off NH48. Witnesses to the crash said that the vehicle had flipped over at least a couple of times before landing in an open space abutting the highway, about 20-30 feet away.
The elderly persons — Dinesh Ghewala (66) and Ramila Ariwala (60) — were seated behind. Neither had the seat belt strapped when people rushed to the ill-fated vehicle near Dhaniwari village, where the accident took place.
The injured, Bhaskar Ariwala (45), was at the wheel while his wife Bhavna (44) was seated beside him. Each of them was found to be wearing the seat belt. They have been admitted to the rural hospital at Kasa. Their condition is stable, the police quoted doctors as saying. The four from Surat had visited the temple of goddess Mahalaxmi, at Dahanu, and were returning home when the crash occurred.
Bystanders who rushed to their rescue summoned the ambulance where the senior citizens were declared ‘brought dead’.
