Bengaluru: A special team of Tumakuru police, probing the conspiracy to murder Congress MLC KN Rajendra, detained two prime suspects for questioning. Both have been shifted to an undisclosed place for further interrogation.
According to Rajendra, a gang took a supari for Rs 70 lakh to eliminate him and received Rs 5 lakh as an advance. “They planned to kill me on Nov 16, a day prior to the birthday celebrations of my daughter at my Tumakuru residence. An audio clip, which I got in the first week of Jan, confirmed the attempt,” Rajendra told police.
Sources said the audio clip contains a conversation between a man and a woman, where the latter explains how she overheard two youths talking about the murder plot. The audio, which TOI could not verify independently, was recorded in Dec 2024.
