2 detained for loot at office of finance firm | Patna News – Times of India


Patna: Two persons were detained for interrogation on Thursday in connection with a loot case at a branch of a microfinance firm in East Champaran district. About half a dozen armed criminals had looted Rs 7.98 lakh from the bank located in the Harsiddhi police station area in the district late Wednesday night, police said.
According to police, the bank employees were working late last night when the armed criminals entered.The robbers, brandishing guns, assaulted the employees and then executed the robbery, making off with Rs 7,98,000 from the office. The employees then informed the Harsiddhi police about the incident. The police are now working to identify the criminals based on the CCTV footage.

Mukesh Kumar, an employee of the bank, in his police statement, said around 10pm on Wednesday, five to six masked criminals entered the bank. They first assaulted the employees and then, showing a gun, looted the money from the bank and fled.
Areraj SDPO Ranjan Kumar said, “As soon as we received information about the incident, a team was sent to the site for investigation.”
