MUMBAI: Two men died after the car they were travelling in crashed into a tree on the southbound lane of the Eastern Express Highway in east Mumbai’s Vikhroli area.
The accident occurred at around 1230 am when the Chevrolet Cruze lost control and crashed into a tree on the sidewalk of the highway.
The car was reportedly being driven by Siddharth Rajesh Dhage, 23, a resident of Swyambhu Hanuman Nagar.His friend, Rohit Bhausaheb Nikam, 29, a resident of Kannamwar Nagar, Vikhroli East, was seated beside him.
Both men sustained severe injuries in the crash and were taken to Rajawadi Hospital in Ghatkopar where they were declared dead on arrival.
The Vikhroli police have registered a case and are investigating the incident further.
