Chhapra: With the arrest of two criminals, Saran police on Friday claimed to have cracked the case of killing of father-son lawyer duo on June 12 near Dudhiya bridge under Mufassil police station in the district.
Saran SP Kumar Ashish said the special investigation team (SIT) formed to probe the case, on Friday arrested sharpshooter Ravi Shanker Kumar alias Volt (24) from village Umdha and his associate Pankaj Kumar Mahto (28) from village Mgaidh, both under Mufassil police station of the district.He said the two notorious criminals were the main accused in the killing of the father-son duo.
Ram Ayodhya Prasad Yadav (60) and his son Sunil Kumar Yadav (30), residents of Methwalia village under Chappra Mufassil police station, were shot dead while they were on way to Chhapra court on June 12. They were allegedly shot over a land dispute.
The SP said Ravi Shankar has a criminal history as cases have been registered against him under Mufassil and Mohiuddin Nagar police stations in Samastipur district. Cases also have been lodged against Pankaj with Mufassil and Nagra police stations in Saran district.
