1,200 litres of spurious liquor seized | Bhubaneswar News
Koraput: Excise officers seized over 1,200 litres of spurious liquor and arrested three persons for selling it with the labels of a brand in Rayagada district on Sunday night. The accused have been produced in court.
The raid was conducted following complaints from locals. According to excise inspector Dambupani Sindur, the accused operated a licenced foreign liquor shop in Gumuda and were allegedly selling the spurious liquor at discounted prices.
“During the raid on the shop’s godown, it was found that the accused were procuring duplicate liquor, fixing labels and stickers of branded companies, and selling them as genuine products,” Sindur said.
