10 students among 12 arrested for question paper leak in Bargarh college | Bhubaneswar News

Sambalpur: Police on Friday arrested 12 people, including 10 students, in connection with a question paper leak at Barpali College in Bargarh district on Thursday.
According to reports, the political science paper of the third-semester examination was leaked before the exam. The college principal filed a complaint on Jan 29, after which Barpali police registered a case and launched an investigation. Colleges affiliated to Sambalpur University receive the same question paper for exams of different departments.
The police found that the question paper was photocopied at a shop before being shared. A special squad discovered the leak during an inspection at the examination centre. Further investigation revealed that the paper was obtained from Nakatideul College in Sambalpur district.
Among those arrested is a temporary clerk of Naktideul College, Ashok Sahu, who was in charge of getting the question paper printed. He printed extra questions and shared them with students.
Police also arrested the man behind the printing and copying of the paper, Vivek Sahu.
Bargarh SDPO Padarbinda Tripathy told TOI, “Twelve people have been arrested and produced in court so far. The temporary clerk of Naktideul College in charge of printing the question paper printed more to share with the students. The owner of the photocopy shop has been arrested along with 10 students who received the leaked questions. Anyone else involved in the leak will also be arrested.”
