Patna: One person sustained injuries in a stone pelting and firing during a confrontation between two groups in Maner police station area of Danapur near Patna on Sunday. Six people, including five women, have been detained.According to the Maner station house officer (SHO), bullets were fired from both the sides.Sources indicate the violence stemmed from political rivalry.Maner SHO Pradeep Kumar said a firing and stone-pelting incident took place between former mukhiya Rajveer Singh’s group and his neighbour Harendra Singh. “There was a previous political dispute between them, for which an FIR was filed earlier. The same dispute led to another row on Sunday. Upon receiving the information, the police reached the site. One Sunny Kumar sustained minor injuries and was sent for primary care.After verification, further action will be taken. A bullet shell casing was recovered. The police are currently investigating the case and maintaining vigilance in the area,” Kumar said.Ashok Kumar Patel, ASI at Maner police station, said that no formal complaints have been lodged by either party yet. The police are working to identify the perpetrators, he added.
